Welcome to Perry Beeches Trust 6th Form…
Making the right choice about where to study for your post-16 education is crucial. With such an important decision to make – it is incredibly important to choose a Sixth Form that offers you a bespoke journey to your future, who will care about your personal development and who will accelerate your academic progress. If this sounds like a place where you would like to flourish then – The Perry Beeches Trust Sixth Form is for you!
2015-16 has been our most successful year yet with 98% of our students achieving 3 x A* – E grades. It gets better…68% achieved 3 x A*-C and we have more students achieving A*-B grades than ever before. 72% of our students secured their first choice of University place, with many going to Russell Group universities and 100% of our 2016 leavers secured places on their choice of degree courses. Among the many successes were places at Newcastle to study Medicine, York to study Philosophy and Birmingham to study Chemistry. If you are serious about your future and have high aspirations, Perry Beeches II Sixth Form is the place for you.
Located in the heart of central Birmingham, our students are made up from applicants from within the Perry Beeches trust, and other local secondary and grammar schools. Our Jewelry Quarter campus has access to state-of-the-art facilities, outstanding teachers and designated areas for Sixth Form, including fully-equipped study rooms and common room, managed by and for the Sixth Form. We are proud of the impact our student voice has on driving change across the Trust, as each student will take on responsibilities to help develop their leadership skills. Gaining a university place is about more than good grades – your involvement in extra-curricular activities through our Enrichment program will ensure your UCAS application is rich in leadership experience and community engagement as well as subject expertise.
Our Sixth Form staff have been carefully selected for their expertise in subject areas. We only offer ‘gold-standard’ A Levels, to aid your university applications, ensuring that you are well prepared for the next stage of your education.
We are also very fortunate to have Academic Mentors that will work closely alongside you, encouraging you to personally excel at every level. Our mentors are friendly, approachable and have an eye for detail, ensuring that your studies never lose momentum in this important phase.
We are a very academic Sixth Form! The hard work you put in to achieve your best grades at A Level will be matched by our commitment and support to ensure you secure the University place you want. In addition to the wide range of A Level courses on offer, there is a robust and innovative approach to enriching your studies through participation in initiatives such as:
-THE MONTHLY LEADERSHIP CHALLENGE
-THE DUKE OF EDINBURGH’S AWARD
-THE EXTENDED PROJECT
– MEETINGS WITH SIGNIFICANT FIGURES FROM OUR LOCAL INDUSTRY PARTNERS, ALLOWING YOU TO ORGANISE YOUR OWN RELEVANT WORK EXPERIENCE
Our expectations of you are high – we see Sixth Form students as exemplary role-models for our younger students and have only the highest standards for behaviour, attitude and attendance. This is coupled with uncompromised expectations for attainment and progress whilst you are studying with us.
To reward this high commitment to work, there is a residential trip at the end of Year 12. This could be anywhere in the world – past destinations include New York and Barcelona and Rome. Berlin was this year’s destination and it certainly did not disappoint.
Thank you for taking the time to look at what we have to offer – if you have any further questions, please do not hesitate to get in touch. I would be delighted to provide answers to any questions you have.
